Gentlemen:

This is a first offering. I wanted to create a basic bowie that could handle bushcraft, field dressing game, survival, and combat - this is what I came up with. The design incorporates a full tang, though one would think this is a frame handle knife......the double guard slot is machined slightly wider than the butt so it can slide over the handle. After the double guard is driven on and pinned, a file guide is used to grind the bottom of the ricasso resulting in a 1/8" long section of the guard under the blade which looks like a bolster....very strong, very cool. The flat ground blade was ground to .030" and 25 degree bevels applied for a robust edge - the spine is rounded to enable batoning the blade. The blade was hand rubbed to 600 grit and etched to reveal a vivid hamon on a user finish. The premium Claro Walnut scales have high color contrast and strong flame figure throughout. No sheath yet so you may specify R or L. I hope you like it! The first I'll take it, email, or PM gets it. This knife will also be listed on my website. $385 delivered CONUS. Paypal preferred to tksteingass@frontier.com Maker's lifetime common sense warranty and free sharpening.

Very very nice. Looks like a scaled down Sleepy Creek. Very handy size.

Beautiful knife! From this angle the guard looks welded or soldered. Very nice indeed. The elves must be getting good direction.

Thanks Ben - the double guard is both pinned and soldered - the elves have been productive lately - the higher protein dog food is yielding higher productivity
