Gentlemen:

For your consideration is this Presentation Grade Woods Scalpel in Crotch Flame figured walnut and D-2. The hidden tang is set with G/Flex epoxy and a 3/32" pin. The walnut has great figure and color contrast - it was taken to 600 grit and a Truoil finish hand rubbed, then buffed. The stainless guard has a bronze inset with red spacers. The hollow ground blade was ground to .020" and 20 degree bevels applied to make this a real slicer. The blade and furniture was hand rubbed to a soft satin sheen. The knife is very light in the hand with neutral balance behind the guard where is should be. Superb fit and finish. I hope you like it! The first "I'll take it, email, or PM gets it. $350 plus $18 shipping.....International shipping will require additional postage, I'm sure. Paypal payment preferred to my account tksteingass@frontier.com. Maker's lifetime common sense warranty and free sharpening.

1/8" D-2 stock

5 1/4" Hollow ground blade

What a beauty. Perfection once again. The walnut is stunning, especially in contrast to the spacers and guard. Mike

I agree with everything said. That looks a little different proportion to your usual blade-or is it the angle? Seems slimmer.

Ben: You have a good eye. Must be from castrating all those dogs over the years.

This is the fourth one of these I've built - these are benchmade knives and no two are exactly alike (artistic license) On this knife I selected .125" stock and shortened the height of the ricasso so the cutting edge drops below it. On previous versions I used 5/32" stock and the bottom of the ricasso was rounded and flush with the cutting edge. Thicker stock also gives a more hollow ground look. Here's an earlier 5/32" version below.
