Stencil Mark on Damascus blade

I have been out of the loop for awhile. Was wondering how to get my logo stencil mark that I electro etch in the blade to show up on a Damascus blade. Tried it twice and it just kind of blends in with it. You have to turn the knife just right to see it at all. Someone give me some pointers on this. Thanks in advance.

Bruce Bump blanks out the area for his stencil so it stays as polished. Looks great as he does it. I never had good luck with an etcher on Damascus. That is why I went to a jewelers pantograph. Much cleaner look.

Yes, paint out the area to be used with finger nail polish before etching , clean off the polish and give it a go. It should work out okay. Welcome back, by the way. Frank
