Stencils - how long do yours last?

How long are you leaving the pad on the stencil at a time? When I started, I would leave them on for about 20 seconds, then take off and repeat, but this burnt them up pretty fast. Now I leave them on for maybe 5 seconds, take off and wipe the sentcil off with a clean shop towel. I do this several times to get a deep etch and it seems to save the stencil.

Yeah, I only hold the pad on for about four seconds, with four second breaks in between, usually 8 times per knife.
