Stepanyan engraved Overeynder folding dagger

how easily it allows the viewer's eye to roam around. It almost leads ones eyes around a little circular tour.
+1 That's just from the picture- holding it must be another journey unto itself.

Here is a Steve Hoel folder from this years Solvang show engraved in a similar style. I spoke with Amayak about his work and he said it's all done with a hammer and chisel and files and sandpaper, no power tools. He's a very nice guy and he does have an accent.

Here are three more Owen Wood/Amayak Stepanyan
collaboration folders, one of them with a gold bolster...

All the best,

BTW, we've all been oohing and ahhing over Amayak's work, all while Tom Overeynder gets no love.  :)

Here's to Tom!

I'm with you on this Coop. Tom is at the top of his game and I'm glad I'm on his list for a folding dagger (model 15-4.25) that will be mine somewhere early in 2011 (I hope):cool:

This is one of my favorite folding daggers I have seen in a very long time. I recently added my first Tom Overeynder knife to my collection, (an older fixed blade...), and after seeing this beautiful piece, it will be joined by a folder down the road no doubt about it. Amayak's unique style always seems to enhance every knifemaker's work, regardless of the style of knife. I think the Hoel folder Martin posted is a good example...

Buddy, you really did this knife justice with your exceptional image. Perfect... Best, Rich

That is some of the most spectacular engraving I've ever seen, not to mention extremely original. He is quite a talented artist! (And, I certainly don't see anything "wrong" with that photo -- it puts the knife and its embellishment in a very pleasing light!)
