Got this in the mail yesterday. Will writeup a little more when I get a chance to use it. Feel free to post up your picks of your 12s here as well. So far love this thing more then the 2, 10, or 7 in hand. This is a stellar knife! Can't wait to put it to some hard use...

The old camillus grivory is indeed wider. I'll get some shots of the funny weight things when I take the grips off soon.

That is a a good looking blade, and a very useful looking one too. Every time I see one I want it just a little bit more. How hard are they to come by?

That looks sweet, Eero! Just just just now grabbed one on the 'bay. I might end up sleeping in the garage, but at least I'll be out there with a big smile on my face. Are you sure that's Camillus grivory? I did not know that....mine'll hafta get new grips then; I have a Camillus 2 and even with the thinner steel, it's too big for my hand. Maybe I'll finally finish some of those wood scales I started and then left. I'm not gonna be able to afford micarta for a while.
Keep us posted....I know you will.

Easy. Just googley, there's only one online dealer that has them. Now just stop buying every other blade off the exchange, and you'll have the cash. The last 2 or 3 knives I was looking at and hesitated, looks like you got, which was good, 'cause instead I spent the money on something I really, really wanted. So, what I mean to say is, thank you.

You can actually still buy them new from one online retailer (anagram worksknife :D) that just got another production run in a few months back.

Thanks for the info guys. Granite, I think you have me mixed up with some one else. I've only brought knives from auction sites and another manufacturer directly. But I have been watching other places here :D

I'm sorry, bud. I did have you mixed up with someone else: wildnewfie....all you people with dog avatars! Thanks for pointing out my mistake. At least I didn't curse you out and call you names. Plus, I was still vibrating from the kill....literally moments after grabbing a 12 on the 'bay. I'll try not to let it happen again. I'll have to thank wildnewfie, though.

The 12 is by far my favorite large Becker. Then again if Doug Ritter and Ethan Becker get together to design a knife it will be fantastic to say the least.

Eero, I'm not trying to start any arguments, I'm just curious since I now have one of these headed my way; how did you find out, or rather how do you know that it's the Camillus Grivory®? I looked in the database and couldn't find anything....is it because they're being manufactured by Rowen? Inquiring mind wishes to know. They will not fit my hand if they are the Camillus scales, I've learned that with my 2, which gets little love now and won't get more until I make/mod/buy new ones.

I asked about the grip size here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1114044-Ritter-MK2-BK12-grip-size. You can also see pics comparing the grip size of the BK12 w/ the BK2. Short version, the BK12 w/ the grips it comes with is slightly more hand-filling than the Kabar BK2 w/ the grips it comes with. If that's a problem, you could put the BK2 grips on the BK12.

The 12 was my first Becker and still one of my favorites!

Just be careful... Mine has a taste for blood, my own:

Thanks for the answer and the link, Mac. Unfortunately I already have one set of Camillus grivory, now it looks like I'll have two. I'm sure that can be remedied.

Nice pick-up Eero. Thanks for showing it off. Personally, for me the 12 will have to wait. I have a few others I want to pick up first.

there are people with bigger hands that want the old [from auction] Camillus grivory

the 12 is thinner than the 2 yes? so some fitment might work out there
