Stephenson and Wilson Sheffield?

Some great photos there Bart, Martin Pick is an excellent photographer :) I like this one of Michael Elliott, Head Cutler at Arthur Wright's
It is a fascinating photo essay, and Mr. Pick is certainly has an outstanding talent! The book seems to be focused on capturing the spirit of the cutlers who were still working in the industry at the time, many of the individuals depicted are not identified, so it is excellent to put names with faces, thanks!

I could certainly add a few more names Bart :) I have another book with photos by Mr Pick, covering similar themes. I thought it was a bit overpriced, but it was a snip compared to that one!

I sometimes wish I'd taken more care taking photos of people like Stan Shaw, but it would change my relationship with them

I think you have found an excellent balance of images and text. As our man in Sheffield, you have certainly captured its past and present quite well! I would be willing to wager you have gathered more photos of various cutlers in postings on the porch than one would think, they are just spread about a bit. I think it is better to develop friendships with people. You have allowed those of us who vicariously join you on the journey (now and in the future) a unique glimpse into the industry. Too many pics would run the risk of making a visit seem too much like a tourist stop.

Besides, there are times that the photo posting gods randomly remove mere images!

Thanks for the kind words my friend, I would rather try and surreptitiously snap a quick pic if I can, the camera sort of puts a barrier between you, like taking out a notebook or microphone :) Why squander a friendship when my photography skills are rubbish anyway?! :D
