I'm drifting away from the wilderness theme on this one...

A rustic karambit.... I call it the "Kuku". It means "claw". Its not exact to the drawing... but let me know what you think.

5160 material.... fresh off the forge.

Im not a fan of non functional knives but I really like this. Maybee ill turn over a new leaf.

I don't know, hellgap, it depends on the intended function I think. Karambits are largely a defensive-purposed tool in today's world, but can be used just about any way.

I've only owned one karambit, an Emerson made folding karambit, but I'll tell you it cut like lightening through fog, and it worked pretty well as an everyday carry for stuff like opening boxes, etc. Not to mention that it would work very well at opening up various arteries and tissues if it ever came to that :eek:.

I'm thinking the tip might get too thin if I put in that false edge... what do you think? The traditional karambits had a double edge.

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

The way the tail is folded back in on the handle is pretty cool. I like the design a lot.

If I could handle a hammer like that I'd quit my real job. Not my style, but my goodness that's some nice work! Just a sidenote, "kuku" means "chicken" (the bird, not the adjective) in Swahili.

I can honestly say that is the only kerambit I've ever thought looked good. Nice work, great design and execution!
