Steve Corkum

I don't know Steve Corkum, and had never even seen his name until actively looking for this, the thread in which Les Robertson was banned from BFC...

As well, I don't know the history about who is right, or who has been wronged by Mr. Corkum, if anyone; nor do I care...

It's not my place to judge others here, whether they be novices, long term contributors, active supporters of BFC, lurkers, or site owner/administrators...

And no, Les Robertson is not my friend...we've never met, we've never broken bread, and to the best of my knowledge we've never emailed or PM'd each other, or for that matter even spoken on the phone...

Hell, on the surface it would seem that our only interaction was to argue about why 'Randall Made Knives' (RMK) were, or weren't truly 'custom' knives...

And though we never resolved our differences on this particular matter, I learned a lot about knives from Les in the process...

Yes, we disagreed as a matter of course, and while I still think the gulf between us is insurmountable with regards to which knives have established 'long term' value...Les earned my respect with his conviction...

No, Mr. Les Robertson is no friend of mine...but his banishment from BFC was a sad day indeed, as IMNSHO, it lessened the overall quality of information on those 'handmade' knives being made available to the knife enthusiast at large, the readers here...

I've seen a lot of folks come and go from this website over the years, and never saw a ban that I didn't support, until now.

Saddened by these events,

Mel
