Has anyone got any info as to how I can contact Steve Ryan?
I need to own one of his knives!!!:D :) :D
Any info (preferbly website or phone number) would be greatly appreciated.

SMAT,

Steve is a part time maker (approximately 50 knives a year). He is currently 300 knives behind (you do the math) and is not taking orders.

The best place to find one is in the after market. The premium will be between 3 - 6 times the retail price.

Good hunting.

What Les said. Steve is exactly where he wants to be right now... producing the knives he wants to make and enjoying his work. I personally envy that... :)

When one pops up on the secondary market, snap it up. Otherwise, goooood luck.

Cheers lads, appreciate it.
My problem is i'm left handed and really wanted a left handed version. Guess it's just not meant to be. Thanks any way

Try www.tripleaughtdesign.com they have his knives occasionally. i know the have one older model at the moment. Once in a while thy will get a couple from him though. Click on the custom knives icon then look for his name in the custom makers section. Good luck....you're gonna need it.....RDT :D

RDT: I'm always checking TAD's website, but thanks all the same.
I guess I'll just have to make do with pictures (sigh):( :( :(

MISSINGLINK is absolutely right, that Ryan lefty is one nasty looking bit of kit!!!!:D :D :D

Okay then guys' you can see what sort of folder I'm after. I need one with loads of WOW!!! factor. I've already got a sebenza, so now I need somthing that looks AMASING ( lets face it while the sebenza is a superb knife it is very functional looking, I'm not saying thats a bad thing) Can you point me in the right direction??? My fate is in your more than capable hands:D :)

p.s. While I know that no-one makes knives the same as Steve Ryan I am looking for somthing along those lines.

Reese Weiland has some great designs, and now with the integral lock like a Sebenza. Thy'll cost you half or less of what Ryan's knives would cost you on the secondary market and with a much shorter wait. I really like Darrel Ralph's Mad Max designs, while they are not quite as WOW as Ryan's they are very useful with some WOW to them as well. Maybe Mike Franklin's knives too ? they are a little too WOW for some as they are some way out designs, but he puts alot of work into them and they are also way less expensive. Good luck.....RDT

AncientSUL (Liong Mah) has some incredible collaborations with top makers...

WOW! Quite a response there. Thanks everyone, it is greatly appreciated. I'm just gonna have a look now and I'll let you know the outcome.:D :D  :D :D

Okay I've had a look around and:
Ferretknives.com :- Excellent looking knives but not taking any more orders (de ja vue?!?!):( But thanks anyway atomic zero, It's always nice to see new knives from around the world.:)

I really like some of jeff hall's work. Does he have a website cause I need to ask him some questions.

Hawg knives look very good also. I particuly like one called the Force one blk on bladeart.com, but I don't know if he still makes it (I have sent an e-mail asking him) If he doesn't then I do like the A-TAK series.

The Reese Weiland knives I've seen on knifeart.com I'm not to keen on myself. I'd need to see more examples to make a decision.

So, If anyone has contact infomation for Reese Weiland or Jeff Hall, either address, phone numbers, web-sites or e-mails, It would be of great help!

The Saga of SMAT's new knife continues! :D :D

D'oh! Sorry, SMAT. I forgot he was backed up for a bit. Check back though; it shouldn't be too long before he opens up shop again :).

But hey, there's a couple of Ryan pieces on TAD right now...:D
