I remember seeing some pics of his customs somewhere but can't seem to find them agian. Anyone know if he has a web site or where I can find some pics of his knives other than the CRKT collaboration?

He does not have a web site. A back isue of American Handgunner in I think '98 entitled "Heavy Metal Fighters" had the best pics I have seen on his knives. In my last conversation with Steve about a week ago, he said that he has pretty much stopped taking orders.

Here are pics of some of Steve's beauties.

Note: This is NOT his catalog. All of these pics were either sent to me via email by Ryan owners or borrowed from the web.

Or you could get his catalogue...contact him (or Andrea, his wife who does the computer stuff) at ryansassy1@aol.com

Also worth mentioning is the August 2000 issue of the Japanese magazine "Knife".
It has 15 full color pages of the most amazing photo's of Steve's knives that you'll ever see.

budrichard- Get in touch with the following Japanese bookstore in New York, they may be able to help you out.

Kinokuniya Books. 212-765-1461

I believe they also have a store in L.A.

I just got an e-mail from Steve. He said he won't be taking any more orders until October. Slight delay, but it appears he's still grinding.

Another update from Steve...in and e-mail I received yesterday, he said he will be sending out catalogs next month. Maybe he'll be taking orders sooner than October. I know I'm going to see if I can an order in before then.

I got an email yesterday saying he was "just about to send out the notices". I guess that means I've been shuffled up in the queue.

Thanks John, Steve beat you to it, got a notice that right hand grind Model 1 was ready! I guess he was making a run for the Japanese market which wants right side grind and had this one also. I will report when it arrives. Then I will have to wait for the Model 7 Lt Wt that I also have on order. I have one of the CRKT Ryan's on order to practice with. RFOST's pics are of Ryan's work are impressive. I am asking Steve to make the Long Tanto Fighter for me as a one off project. It looks as though that knife is also sharpened on the swedge which makes the point look very wicked! I certainly would not want to be near the business end of that knife! Dick.
