i have been searching this forum for info on an easy to build propane/mapp gas small forge. while reading the different posts they keep referring to the "stickies" at the top. i have looked but can't find what they are talking about, please help. also what does "air hardening steel" mean? does it mean that it does not have to be quenched to harden? last question. while reading about the forges it says to use a soft type firebrick. i have many hard fire bricks. can i use them to build a small forge? will they work as wellas the soft?

The first 3 threads on the shop talk-bladeSmith questions and answers are stickies.
The second one down is For the newbie maker starting out as well as the seasoned maker 11 that where you need to start.

Hay I only bought a computer a few years ago. I used to get so damed mad when some one would talk computer to me and expect me to understand.

Mike told you where the stickies are.

The hard firebricks are not for forge building. They are good to lay hot steel on while cooling, so keep them around. You might even make a forge table with the top set with the hard bricks mortared together. That way you can lay the hot steel anywhere you want.
