He makes some cool-looking synthetics; also a shakuhachi flute (I can play them) made of the same stuff...

which now tells me why I haven't rec'd a response either (i fired off an e-mail yesterday). I need some sticks that won't break as easily as rattan under heavy use.

Picked up my HITS today. They were lingering at the post office for a day.

Very nice sticks. I orderered the end-caps; but they looked a bit goofy so I'll use them somewhere else.

Very light, clear, hollow, and you can partially flex them. I'll be giving them a thorough beating shortly.

On impact, they are not as "bouncy" as rattan; but that is something you have to forego since these are supposedly pretty darn tough.
