Stiff Spyderco Military?

Most Spyderco Militaries come stiff as a board out of the box. Loosening up the pivot screw won't help much either. That will only push the blade to the side. If you don't want to tinker with it, time and patience are your only ally. Give it about 4-6 months and it will loosen up. The more you use it, the less time it will take. That said, if you are used to just flicking the knife open with your thumb and having the blade fly out lightening fast, Spyderco Military will disappoint you. It is not that kind of knife. If you need a very fast deployment, hold the blade by the Spydie hole (between the thumb and index finger) and flick it open downwards. The handle will rotate out and the lock will click in place. That is, IMO, the fastest way to open a Spyderco Military (even when brand new).

They are all like that.

Which is why I dont own a single product with the tick on it.

Even sold my sharpmaker, aka dullmaker, aka blade scratcher.

To say they are all like that is purely untrue. I can flick my Military with my thumb, index finger or middle finger. Though, I don't normally do so to prevent excessive lock wear.

Excessive lock wear? Glad i dont have to worry about that with my axis locks.

I have had some Benchmades for 10 years and flicked them open every single time and they are still tight as a drum.

Then again the axis is self adjusting and if it ever did start to wear Benchmade would just fix it for free anyway.

All locks will experience lock wear if forcefully opened. I don't flick most of my knives, even Axis locks, because I want them to last. It's not about it being able to be fixed, it's about treating my tools with care.

^^^^^^^^ Don't feed the troll.

I sincerely hope you're trolling. If you're being serious then you're going to have a rough go at it here.
