Ah yes. I read Mr. Emerson's comments on the very loved term by the right "Radical Islam." Let me state first that I am a proud, pray 5 times a day, bleeding heart Muslim. I am also a Cavalry Platoon Leader in the United States Army. I love the design of Emerson knives, own two, and love taking them in the field. Sad to say, I cannot buy any more of his products due to principle. It is interesting when it comes to "Islam," non-Muslims love to tell Muslims what they "actually" believe. Mr. Emerson pretty much tells me that I believe in manifest destiny. Yet I have been going to mosques all over the world my entire life. Not one Imam or shaikh has preached to me in their "Qutbahs" about going to conquer the world. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm sure it does in some of the despots in the world, but this feasting on the souls of the downtrodden has heppened for millenia an in every major religion and civilization. Some for better and some for worse. What I do know that at many of the sermons I have attended, our clerics praise, the work of very beneficent Christian and Jewish groups for the good they have done for their communities and how we should emulate them more. My religion, my family, and many others have only preached patience to me in life even though I have failed that principle many times. If Mr. Emerson actually went to a mosque he would see that no one would stop him at the door. No one would say no non-muslims allowed and when he sees a father on his knees in ultimate devotion to God and his son with no understanding of what his father is doing but prostrating and imitating him the same, he would realize the peace it truly brings us. Now I'm sure many of you will try to misquote the Quran and pull things out with absolutely no context (just like I could do with the bible and the tora, both which are considered divine books by Muslims), but guess what you read it and I live it. That is the difference between you and me. So Mr. Emerson have whatever opinions on Islam you want. Tell us that we are all "mainly good" but are "supposed" to be bad. Tarnish the name of the Muslim firefighters, police officers, doctors, soldiers, and so much more who quietly try and make this country a little better. I promise you that most will say nothing back. It is how we were raised
