To those that care, I’m still here. Just life stuff going on the last few months. New job, with more time home, just less time here. Family deaths and situations. Winter is coming so it’s finally cooling off and tolerable in the shop. Quit working in the IT field and working in the machine shop of in a large plastic injection molding plant.

Already scored some nice free stuff they were scraping. Bringing home 3 Baldor 2hp 3ph motors next week with 90 degree gear boxes. I’ll be able to get my first grinder off the treadmill motor and close to my second grinder with it’s 3hp motor. Have one for a disc grinder and an extra one. Might be able to get a few more as there are 5 pallets of them they are scraping. Got some scrap hydraulic cylinder pistons I might be able to use in a hammer build or something. Anyway hope to be here more in the coming weeks/months.
 
I'd been wondering why I've not seen any posts from you in a while. Sorry for your lose, and congrats on the new job. Sounds like you're going to have as many (or more) 3 ph motors as you can use. Will the gearboxes be any issue to remove?

Thanks. No, they are 56c frame motors.
 
Good to see you again. I’ve had a pretty rough year with only four or five knives completed. Usually, it’s one per week. I’ve comtinued posting here as it’s a great community. Take care. My thoughts are with you and your family.
