Gotta second the Sharpmaker. With care, you can use the 30 degree angle (just stay need the top of the hones for 30 or 40 when you're at the back of the blade to stay clear of the thumbstuds) and watch an already great knife come to life.
At first, my Nemesis' point was too thick to poke into a scratching post (I'm sure it would've stabbed me with no problem, but scratching posts take more force). When it finally needed resharpening, I went through all hell with my EdgePro and Sharpmaker, but finally ended up using the Sharpmaker to make a 30 degree back-bevel and 40 degree edge. Now its point isn't too thick for the scratching post (or probably even my skull).
