Hey Guys..

I'm still in need of 9 Altoid Tins..
I haven't gotten any yet..

Any help for the Scouts would be much Appreciated..

Can't you ask your scouts to buy them? Let them eat the candy then give you the tin, I'm sure they'd love to do it.

seriously the cost of shipping would be about equal the cost of the tin with mints and all
 
I got a bunch like 5 or so.

I will send them. I would have sent them with that MO I sent for the sheaths.

Who said they were and did not?

I will send out them tomorrow.

Tom at campingsurvival.com carries tins the same size and shape of the altoids tin except they are solid in color (brushed finish).

Normark, I'm an avid Altoids eater and save my tins, which I usually give to a buddy of mine who likes to use them as pistol targets. I've probably got a couple of dozen tins, if you want them they're your's. PM me and we'll work out the shipping.

If you still come up a couple short let me know I should have about a dozen plus of them laying around and I can send them to you. When do you need for?

Wish I could find that price here. Last one I bought was almost four bucks at the corner store.

Do you have a pic of the test tin with the gear in side or do the little guys get to pick what they want?
 
Hey Guys..

Thanks all VERY much...

The extras I have will go to Leaders and probably some 3rd Year Cubs who will be moving up soon...Our other leaders are Really short on firemaking skills,,so they will need to be taught.

I figure I've (as well as my scouts) have gifted some 40 Fire kits this year to various people..The tins will come in handy as I've run out of tins and started using Skoal containers which are plastic.. Nice for some things,, bit not ideal for others...

These tins will become Char Cloth Ovens as well as fire kits...

I don't have any pictures as of yet,, but will be a standard but well thought out firekit, including mag glass, ferro rod, PCB's, fatwood,char cloth and possibly a striker and flint..
Wally Hayes is going to help me hammer out some strikers if I can find the right materials. I have to take my traditional striker and see what we can bang out.

I'll get pictures up once I get going
