Just picked up this bad boy RECON 1 for a song! This knife just melted in to my hand like it was made for it! The Bowie Blade was razor sharp out of the box! Easiest opening cold steel knife I've bought and the back lock was easy also! I put a spare chrome pocket clip on because I couldn't get it in pocket with the stock one! All in all I love the knife!

CS Recon 1 Large has one of the most comfortable handles that I have tried so far.
 
Cool. :thumbup: Saw a great price on an AUS8 Hold Out 1, and debating if I really need another one. Have a D2 Leatherneck coming in that should be fun to take outdoors.
 
Nice! I got the exact same thing (along with a Rajah II) immediately after the AUS8 prices dropped! Good taste.

Just dealers dumping a lot of their AUS8 steel to make room for the new stuff. This is a rare wave rolling through and some of us are catching it, if you are ok with AUS8 steel.

The dealer site I monitor sure hasn't been dumping its AUS8 steel prices any. If anything it's actually increased them, some substantially.

I just ordered a 2nd Recon 1 XL PE tanto from the river site for just under $59, a superb deal as it was less than my last XL tanto that was $75. I just couldn't pass up that price for a 5.5" CS folder. My nephew was so enthralled with my first XL tanto that I gave it to him for his b-day. Few deals are left it seems but I've been lucky. A 4" Talwar recently went to a different nephew for his b-day, I picked it up for $45 a couple months ago.

A ton of combo edge knives are even cheaper but I hate those with a passion. To me they always end up being the worst of both worlds. Of course others may like them so I thought I'd mention the combo edge CS folders for sale.

Same here. Seems like the PE AUS-8 models are just starting to dry up a bit, but there are plenty of combo edges still available. We are apparently not alone. ;):thumbup:

Jeez, bummer. I can pick up a Hold Out 1 for $70.00 right now, which is unheard of up here.
 
Vodka and big river = recon 1 xl tanto aus8 and counter tac 1 vg1 ordered tonight haha.

That is outrageous, and I see what you are saying now. My preferred vendor had the large AUS8 clip Recon folder for $59.00 for the longest time, now it's $89.00. I'm far from desperate for more steel so there is no pain when I pass on things like this. :thumbup:

The river site had a Recon 1 AUS8A PE clip point for $225 from some non river site seller. He must be hoping for some fools because only a moron would pay that much when a new CTS-XHP version can be had for under $100.
