Hey guys, I've been lurking on this forum for a while and made a few posts recently and figured I should introduce myself.
I saw a blacksmith make a knife at a park a long time ago and thought it was the coolest thing ever. I already loved knives at the time and wanted to do what he did.
Fast forward maybe 20 years from 13 or so to 33 and I got a chance to make a knife in early 2014. I chose to start with stock removal as it seemed like a easier barrier to entry and hope to start learning to actually forge soon, have an anvil and a hammer just need a forge now. On forging I want to learn and do all that is possible with it not just knives. I have worked in a lot of different areas but never in fabrication, I think if I had went that way I would have had a lot more fulfilling work life as I really really enjoy making things. I have worked for a blasting company, carried Sheetrock , for several trucking companies as a professional driver. I am a husband and father of three, a boy and two little girls, they are just about the most important part of my life, I love the outdoors, about four months of the year down here. I like everything from practical knives for everyday use on up to beautiful works of art, and like clean flowing lines everywhere. I tend to put function over form in most of my pursuits, but once I have function down I work to get the form where I want it to be.
Mods if I am in the wrong posting this here please let me know.
Here are a few pictures of my work.
