I just saw this image in another forum and really liked the blade style. They are Stingers made by Kathleen Tomey. What do you guys think?

Neat, unique, simple yet aggesive looking. Looks like they would be comfy in the hand??

Really nice. I saw these knives previously and thought of the fire ant neck knife you sent me. The blade style is different, but overall they are a lot alike.
 
Somewhat reminiscent of a couple of Perrin and Polkowski pieces I'm fortunate enough to have in my collection.
 
I saw this lady's work at the last shows I went to and she had some cool knives on her table. Glad to see your knives here on the Forums. Gotta love those stingers

Never mind! Apparently I'm not entitled to my opinion. I made a point of saying it was not a mean spirited comment but I guess that point was missed by some.
 
What is it with people around here anymore.... you dont like something, fine, your choice... but that doesnt mean you have to say it... or critisize a makers work.

There is only so much that can be done with a knife... there is a lot of repetition... its the quality of the work and the small things, like handle material choices, balance, file work, minor changes in blade shape, that make each knife something worth having to a variety of people.

Okay.. I am being a hard-on... I just dotn get it sometimes... :rolleyes:

Thumpers mother was a smart lady... "If ya cant say something nice..." and so on...

that was not a nice thing to say Jeffrey :(, albeit we are entitled to our own opinion and not here merely to kiss ass, it'd be best to stick to constructive criticism - and sometimes it's best to leave this to private email.

personally I don't think these stingers are run of the mill, the only thing "common" about the design is the name.. and there aint nothign wrong with that.. the only other knife I know that would come close to this knife would be the laci szabo / Perrin Jaws.

I could be mistaken, which is very possible since I havent been doing this long, and please feel free to list them (no bead blast with black handled knives dont count as a "category" :D )... there are many other designs worthy of the quote "just like the rest"... Please reconsider your comments as these are real people with real feelings, and instead of criticism or encouragement Ms. Tomey won't be able to take anything away from your comment except disappointment. :(
 
very nice work. You seem to have a lot of patience and your work shows. Can you help me out as I have a BRAIN-CRAMP this morning. What does S.U.C. stand for?

Also, what is your standard "wait-time" for delivery for a knife that is not loaded with options?.....Thanks and Good luck.........wolf;) :)
 
Yep, what all you folks said (well most of you anyway). I'm hoping that Ms. Tomey will be at the Flint River Show in Feb. so I can handle 'em in person. Makes me proud to see all the fine knives coming outta the great state of Georgia. :D
