I'm having a very difficult time gluing ray skin to a full tang knife. Ive tried Gorilla glue and Devcon epoxy. Also, I have tried cleaning the tang with acetone and also detergent, still no luck.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks for the help.

Matt

Sand the tang with 50 grit or bead blast it.

Get some good superglue and apply it to the tang and then lay your sting ray on top and compress it until set. You have to compress it good if you are not going to use a catalyst. CA glues work when all the air is removed.

I also use a "Insta Set" if I need it to bond immediately.

I just use superglue like Adam says. Its somewhat easily removable if I need it to be. My logic is that I'm going to permanently seal any rayskin under tsukamaki wrap and west system epoxy anyway. I just need the ray to stay put for a bit while I wrap. Superglue is the trick.
