Stitches, I dont need no steenkin steetches......ok so maybe I did.

Remind me to not be around you when you have a knife in your hand.

Kids these days. I'd have just rubbed some dirt in that scratch and wrapped a bandanna around it. ;) :D

I'll take the right knee in August with your Becker of choice. Hope you heal up quickly.

Ouch Ogre,
Be careful Man you only have 10 fingers and toes, and unlike baby teeth they wont grow back in ..lol

@ Devilpig,

I split my index finger right across the middle knuckle, and even with medical treatment, it looked swollen and was hard to bend for almost a year. It got better and better, but it was almost a year before it stopped hurting in a full bend or under pressure.
The scary part is I normally heal very fast, and I have healed from some injuries that the docs didn't expect me to. I think knuckles are just a bear when hurt properly..lol

Very nice... I was carving a spoon out of yellow cedar with my Booker stockman a few decades back, the blade got a tad dull and I didn't touch it up (dumb) and I inadvertently sliced through my forefinger and middle finger. Still got the scars, the spoon and the Boker...

I busted out the butterfly sutures and super glue then the wife said it was time for the ER. It wouldn't stop bleeding for an hour. Oh well. I learned how to do stitches. The doc was cool and gave me some tools and showed me how to do it one handed so I could be prepared when I do some solo backpacking this fall. Hooray for learning.

BS monitor is screaming loud..... so loud I can hear it from over hear :D

I was doing some mods on a FFG Delica a while back and was finish hand sanding the spine when my wife called me in for dinner...

a second later I jabbed my thumb right into the tip, didn't stop bleeding, couldn't stop bleeding...... BUT IT DID...

its called compression.... I'll bet you a dollar to a day old donut you could have got the bleeding to stop you can tell its just a flesh wound...seriously I jabbed my thumb crazy hard and deep, I couldn't stop the bleeding and it was pouring... but my wife stopped it.. but then again she's a nurse in December.......:D

she glued it with the medical stuff though.....

stupid is as stupid does, I always tape knives but this time I was only finishing off a mod and it was only gonna take a second............

hoping for a speedy and complete recovery for ya..

remember kids always have the blade of the knife pointed away from every part of your body. never ever pull the blade towards you or push towards your hands or legs.

I tell the kids this a dozen times everytime we are out camping and I am teaching them woodsman type stuff, think I will show them these pictures to reinforce.

Yeah that's pretty much what I have figured as well. Maybe scar tissue getting in the joint? That's sort of what it felt like to me.

Quite a few years ago I was sitting at the kitchen table shooting the breeze, cleaning my fingernails with a small folder with about a 1 1/2 inch long blade but it's about 3/4 of an inch wide. I know, not at the kitchen table, right ? So anyway the knife slips from my hand and I tried to catch it by slamming my legs together. That's right, rammed it in to my thigh to the hilt resulting in a trip to the ER for stiches.

This makes me have to pee. Seriously.

Right earlobe in the ballroom...I think most of my worst cuts were as a kid making model cars with those exacto knives.

I cut my elbow pretty deep once, I was moving the skin around while the white tissue stayed still. I had it stiched up about 16 hours later. My doc told me that 12 to 16 hours is the threshold for getting the cut to heal shut. My elbow healed up fine, your healing experience may be different.
Maybe you need some chainmail gloves, pants, jock strap, and cover that neck, just in case.
