Depending on the people that are going to be receiving them, I may give a great deal of thought to the Vic classic.
If these are not knife people, the little classic has a few things going for it. One, it's tiny enough to go on a keyring, so it does not have to be really carried. This means that the person will really have it on them when they leave the house. Non knife people won't remember to carry the knife because it's not on their radar.
Two, it's got a few useful tools on it. The sissors really work, as does the nail file and screw driver tip and tweezers.
Some years ago I gave out classics as stocking stuffers to the non knife people in the family. I was a little tired of me being the only one with a knife, and having it borrowed. Karen's cousin's Scott, Barbara, Bob, Sam, sis in law Rommilie, Diane, Brother in law Roger, all got a classic. Even Aunt Jane.
The women went nuts over the little sissors and nail file, and the menfolk liked having a little knife. Months later, all were still carrying the classics on the keyring. The keyring made it easy for them. Being attached to their keys, they literally could not leave the house without it. I handed out quick release clips so they could detach the sak easy from the keyring for better use.
One year later, Karen let me know that there were some "requests" for a bit larger knife for food/snack duty. I again for Christmas handed out Victorinox alox solo's that I had made into easy openers. They went into the purses and are still carried. The little classic made converts to the cause, that I don't think would have happened it I had handed out a regular pocket knife.
To this day years later, Scott, or Roger, or Bob, or Diane takes out their little classic and cuts something, instead of "Hey Carl, let me see your knife for a minute."
That's priceless.
This year they are all getting flashlights. Little flashlights for the purses and keyrings. Hopefully no more "Hey Carl, lets see that little flashlight of yours for a minute."
Carl.
