Stockman Bolsters: Rounded or Square?

"I prefer square bolsters on a bigger knife like a Case 75 pattern. However on the smaller ones and particularly edc knives I like rounded......"

I concur with this:thumbup:!

I will add to my earlier comment (generally favoring large stockman knives with the square bolsters). I do like the aesthetic of the smaller stockman knives with rounded bolsters. In particular, the '47 pattern Case comes to mind, and my sweet little 108OT Old Timer also is quite pleasing to the eye. The round bolsters also look better on what I call the 'wide body' stockman knives, like a Bulldog Cattle King.

My preference in a stockman is for a 4" knife with round bolsters because they carry better in my pocket. But, it isn't a deal breaker by any means.

I like both
Pocket wear is not an issue becuase I always carry my knives in a belt pouch

But I do prefer the way a squared end looks with the blade open, they seem to fit better

I go for the rounded bolsters, myself. Feels better in the pocket, especially in the watch pocket of my Levi's. Those squared ones end up poking me in the pelvis.

Also, since I often use my pocketknives as a "worry stone" of sorts, flipping it around in my hand while I am concentrating on other things, the rounded bolsters have a better feel to them.
