Here's an old cattle knife I bought just for the bone.

The only marking on it is "Made in USA". Since the previous owner already reground the broken tip of the main, I might as well rework the sheepsfoot and carry this thing some more.

Nice one.

This knife was made by J.S. Holler & Co of Solingen. It is also stamped Adolph Blaich San Francisco. This was a sporting goods retailer. The knife dates to circa 1900.

Very sleek lines on that old sweat.

Is that 'snakeskin stag' ? Looks sort of scaly..

How does SK do it?
That Stockman is a fantastic looking knife, I cannot believe how much that knife is in such good condition for 100 years old!

'Thanks very much for your comment waynorth. I'm still not sure about the maker of this one. It's knice nonetheless.

p.s., That is a blemish on the bolster not the pin. '

S_K I think this is by John Watts... I have one the same, but in much worse condition than yours. Will try and find it and post pics.

cheers

not a very clear pic, but I think the bone is very similar in pattern and the blades look similar as well.

Mine has all three blade tangs stamped with John Watts, Sheffield, England

That's a lovely knife Casares!

I haven't yet had time to deal with the rust that accumulated as this Böker Tree Brand Stockman sat unused in a leather tool pouch for 20 years, but I am looking forward to getting it back in good condition.

Nice Boker, looking good.

Be careful not to over-clean it!

thanks for posting the pic

CV Case 6347HP Stockman. The knife is 3 7/8" long with nickle/silver bolsters and liners and the shield is pinned. The knife is from the 1940 through 1964 era (CASE XX).

Those are very knice knives. The Case redbones are real classics. Who is the maker of your stag-handled knife blindog? Great photos too.
