Stockman - Queen or Eye Brand

rprocter the 3 eyes with unmarked shields are old stock & made in the old factory. definitely best quality.notice the sunk joints. dennis that celluloid on left should be segegated looks like the handle is fixing to start fumeing.

Youve got a very nice selection of Eye Brands Roland. I really like the 4 3/4" Stockman and the two Trappers next to the Sodbusters.

Got my first German Eye in the post this morning, it's the same as Roland posted in his picture(Barehead knife next to a pruner,2nd left bottom row)

Knife looks good and has potential to be very nice , 3" black jigged scales, 2 blades one Clip and the other an interesting mini Sheepfoot/Wharncliffe.Unusual.

But, it certainly has 'issues'. Gaps between springs and liners are significant, the springs seem oddly large for such a small knife. Snap is good and there's no blade wobble though. The secondary blade touches the liner and is nowhere near centre, worse, the blade itself is bent-crinked might be a euphemism here. Pins are proud too. All in all a potentially good knife brought down by some poor fit. All the German Bökers I have are much better finished. One swallow doesn't make a summer and one bad knife doesn't make a manufacturer rubbish, I know, but I'm not in a great hurry for another Eye nevertheless.

Can't beat a large stockman!

I have both Queen and Eye (and several others) ... love both as much as each other, thogh for different reasons. The Eye is a tougher, rather more rustic thing and if I had to choose, it would be that one :) Going to score a backup some day :D:D

Seriously though, try and get a go of a Moore Maker yellow bone, 4 1/2" model - sublime in 1095

I finally decided on the Eye Brand and ordered it on Friday ... should be here this week. Found and extremely helpful dealer that picked out a nice one for me. I take some photos and give a report when it arrives.

Knifeswapper really hooked me up cause she is a beauty!
