Stockman Sunday picture show

That's a medium Northwoods stockman, made by Queen. It's one of those nice carrying knives that you forget it's even in your pocket.

I’d like to see more of these made someday.

Thanks Jim. That’s a great looking ulster.

Thanks Paul, it’s a rehandled one done by our very own @glennbad

An pair fit for work :D
1978-1982 "Schrade +" Old Timer 858 (no "OT" tang stamp)
("easy" to date! Schrade only made the 858/858OT those four years.)
2019 or 2020 (I'm not sure when the series came out. I bought it in 2020.) Rough Ryder "Classic Carbon" RR1740, with a itty bity bit a patina. (finally!) :D

For what it is worth, (nothing) I strongly suspect these will be the last stockman's carried in 2020, and the first stockman's carried in 2021.
I'm pretty sure these are my favorites out of all the large stockman's I have. (I could be mistaken, of course. Unlike many, I am a great distance from "infallible". :( )

(don't start the "new" year with a hang over, like my dumb brothers are apt to do ... again ... you'd think after 25 and 30 years, they'd learn better .... but NOooooo ... )
Please have a wonderful 2021 and beyond. :D

Oh! You mean like a 4 2/8 inch Rough Ryder, 4 4/8 inch (Offshore) Schrade/Old Timer 858OT/858OTB, and 4 5/8 inch (USA) Schrade/Old Timer 858/858OT, and the small/tiny 3 7/8 inch Buck 301 size? :D
I don't feel or notice it (or "them" if carrying two or more) when carried loose in my RF pocket. :)

Here’s all the 34 OT’s I currently have. A couple of NY stamped in there and the one with the blade open is my only Schrade Walden of the bunch. Top one is my oldest, given to me by Grandad on one of my trips to Montana. Over the last 36 years that model has been my most carried, almost exclusively for 30 of that.

Hi
I just got one as a gift with NY stamped on it. What does that tell me about the knife? The one I carried since 2004 in hc420 doesn't have that stamped on it. It is my favorite knife by the way.

The NY was used on the stamp starting around 1973 when they began transitioning away from the walden name. There were some special old timers made in 1985 and they all had NY on the stamp. I believe the NY stamp was already being phased out or close to it at that time. That is not a matter of fact though. A NY stamped schrade is in the rough range of 1970’s-1980’s.

Well the wooden imitation box with golden letters looks very old school. By the way, it opens very crudely as if it has sandpaper finish where it moves over the spring. A drop of oil makes it run smoothly and its only the clip blade. Thanks for the info.
