Stockman vs Whittler (GEC 81 vs 79)

Your Case Stockman positively dwarfs your GEC #81. Wow, I had no idea there was that big a difference. The Case looks like it must equal the weight for 5-6 Peanuts, at least! lol.

Thanks for the top-down photo. That GEC has really managed to line up their blades in a very straight configuration. If I ever get a hankerin' for this much knife, I'll look to the #81, or even it's big brother the #82, if I'm feeling especially daring. :)

I tossed and toiled between #79 Workhorse Whittler (huge main blade and body) and the #82 Dixie Stockman (svelt body and Muskrat clip main blade).

I went with the 82 Dixie in Maroon Micarta today. I have a #53 3-Blade Cattle knife already (haven't handled it yet) and I went with the 82 because it's so much slimmer than the 53... Unfortunately they have the same main blade. The Muskrat Clip is not my favorite ascetically, however they work great for normal cutting tasks and are so much more pocket friendly and allow more comfortable use of the secondaries.
