Please be on the lookout for the one-of-a-kind bowie as pictured. Disappeared in transit from Greensborough, NC, to Decatur, MS. Most likely stolen BEFORE it reach Decatur, and it went straight from the sorting facility to the small-town destination post office. You can contact me with information at wm_mott@yahoo.com. THERE IS A REWARD. THANKS very much.

Wicked knife! I can't fathom not insuring it with signature confirmation. ALWAYS insured high value items !

No mistaking that if you see it. Good luck with recovery :/

Don't get how someone ships a custom knife with no insurance and then expects a course of reactions.

I don't buy or send anything over $100 value without insurance.

Hi William. I've moved this to Feedback. Not sure it's the right place, but it'll get more attention here.

Whether it's insured or not, you think he can buy another just like it??? Maybe make a phone call and have a duplicate sent overnight from California???

Did I say if it was insured or not? No, I did not.

I want the one-of-a-kind knife and sheath back, not the money. Not a replacement.

Thanks.

Yes. Apparently the thief cut the package open, removed the knife and sheath from the integral belt (a big job, since it was all bound up together, wrapped up, and fully padded) then re-taped the cut area and sent it on to me for "signature confirmation". My elderly mother signed for it while I was at work. It arrived with a little sticker that had a check mark beside a box that said "damaged".

ONLY A POSTAL EMPLOYEE, in one capacity or another, could have done this.

Was this mailed from a USPS Post Office or a third party mailer which mail for all carriers including USPS?

So it had to be a postal employee. It literally never left the possession of the USPS until it was delivered and signed for by an elderly woman.

You need to contact the postal inspectors. They take this type of thing very seriously. They don't want thieves working for them - it betrays the public trust.

I think this should be a "sticky" at the top of the page. The more people who see it the better the chances are of someone recognizing the knife if they ever come across it, and perhaps facilitating it's return.

It sucks beyond words that the knife was stolen. I hope you get it back, and I hope the thief gets what's coming to them. Mail theft is a Federal crime.

It's bad enough when some random scumbag steals something, but when a person entrusted with your property uses that trust, and their position, to steal from you, that makes it all the more despicable and infuriating.
