---Stolen knife alert---

It may turn up yet. I have had SO many items come to me via USPS over the last 6-7 years or so (round about the time I got on this forum and others, coincidentally) and only ONE didn't arrive and that wasn't sent via USPS. Some were considerably late but they all got here. So have faith!

Hope it all works out, awesome knife!

Sorry to hear this, but Nick, I figured by now most makers had Collector's insurance from collectinsure.com. Your knives will be covered no matter where they are and you don't have that insured sticker that says 'Steal Me' on the package when you ship. Also USPS rarely pays and only if all your ducks are in a row.

I had a case of a missing USPS package one time that was going to be a pretty expensive loss.
I called their 800# and after all the automated responses was able to get to a human.
I gave them the tracking number and mentioned the last place where it was scanned.
I also told them the package size and described the contents.
The lady I had spoken to asked for a contact phone number for me and said she would investigate.
I thought that was a brush off so I put together a package of replacement material for the customer.

A day later I received a phone call from the post office. They tracked the package to the next distribution center.
It had been damaged and the shipping label had been torn off.
I had not included anything inside the package that had a shipping address or anything so the package had been put aside.
In the end they re-packaged the materials and got it shipped express to the customer.

To make a long story short.
The local post office was unable to do anything more than check the computer tracking info.
The automated telephone tracking info, same results.
It took getting through to a human at their customer service/help dept.

Good story Mark, with a good ending. My local post master has been a huge help to me when needed, but I've done a ton of business there and she is all about customer service. Tiny little post office also.

Hello Nick!

Sorry to hear about that - I hope it will eventually show up like it was supposed to. I have had this happen on several occasions, because I am buying a lot from all over the globe.

USPS has a special place in my book though, since they managed to ship a knife that was correctly labelled AUSTRIA (EU) to AUSTRALIA more than once...:rolleyes:

I'll keep an eye open on local markets for your's, Nick.

Best regards,
Alex
