Receiving, I have contacted the seller as I am unsure if they were insured. Most likely taken in Minnesota.
If the seller didn't insure that is on them. You should be getting a refund. How do you know that they were stolen in the mail?
I trust that the seller did not steal them, They were packaged by Fedex. I assume that the worker packing them just helped them selves, could be wrong though.
I was wondering the same thing. How do you know that they were stolen in the mail?
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, risk of loss only passes to buyer upon delivery at the agreed address. That's not a BF thing; it's the law in all states. If the seller didn't insure that is on them. You should be getting a refund. How do you know that they were stolen in the mail?
Other than the initial cost of packing materials and a little time, the secure packaging of an item is free and expected of a sender/seller. Insurance for the item being shipped, and purchased by the sender/seller from their delivery service is negligible and comes with peace of mind.
I was wondering the same thing.
Was the box empty and fully intact upon arrival? Was the declared weight of the package consistent with the contents?
Did the package disappear in transit?
Was it taped? I tape my boxes like Fort Knox, nothing getting out of them without a lot of effort and you'd be able to instantly tell if they were messed with..
I use tape that pulls the surface off the box when pulled off.
Also, "peanuts" make it harder to quickly and secretly loot a box on the fly.
I recently got a knife from you and it was packed more than adequate!I tape the boxes I pack like crazy. I also pad items with bubble wrap and peanuts. Unfortunantly I can't dictate how someone else packages theirs.
Box arrived undamaged, with half of the contents missing. They left a randall inside if that tells you anything. I will repackage it and weigh it to see if the weight is correct. They are all customs and worth atleast $200+ each easy. I would much rather have the knives than the money back, but would be happy with either.
My only issue with insuring an expensive knife is that on many packages they write the value of the insurance right on the front of the package. This is basically a note that says “expensive item inside, steal me.”
Still it is the sender’s responsibility to insure. It can’t be the buyers loss if a knife doesn’t show up.
