Down in Anaheim to visit Disneyland, two of my knives were stolen from the hotel room.
They are both pretty distinctive:

Sebenza converted by Butch Vallotton, with custom anodizing.

And a Brian Tighe Nirk

Just in case they surface, thought I'd post up.

I would call all the local pawn shops to see if anyone has brought those two in. Sucks man..... I'll keep an eye out up in Oregon.

Ill keep an eye out, those are both too distinctive to miss. If it was a local, I've got decent odds(I live 15 mins from Disneyland).

If I were you I would raise bloody hell with hotel management right up to corporate if it's a chain!
File a police report and see if they might be covered via homeowners insurance?
Sorry for your loss of property .

I'm curious to know what steps you have taken so far. Have you filed a police report?

Is that Sebenza an auto? One concern I might have is that if it is, it would be illegal to carry under CA state law. I'm not sure about the legalities of merely possessing it. This is something you might want to look into before involving the cops.

Where were the knives when they were stolen (suitcase, drawer)? Perhaps this can be a learning lesson for others- it may sound cynical but it's a good idea to assume that all hotel staff are thieves. It's also important to know that those electronic door locks are a total joke and can be easily bypassed by thieves, some thieves speacialize in such things.

When it comes to protecting your valuables while staying at a hotel, youe have four choices- Leave them in your car. Put them in the hotel safe. Hide them really well in the room. Don't leave them in the room and keep them with you at all times.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Good luck.

fifth choice- always leave the do not disturb door hanger on. Everytime i hit a hotel and have something i'm not going to carry sign goes right on the door knob.

sucks that happened, hope you raised hell at the hotel. More so, hope you get your knives back.

Wow, that Sebbie was f amazing! Sorry that some idiot took it from you. Hope you get it back or at least some justice.

How did that break in? Was it the people who clean the rooms? Did they search through your stuff? File a police report and bring fiery hell down upon the hotel chain and make sure they do something about it.

If you havent left call for disney security and apd. File a police report. And give disney pictures in case it shows up at l&f

Dang dude, sorry for that loss. As if Disneyland wasn't expensive enough. File a police report and tell the manager. Hopefully you're not in one of those fly by night motels out there.

That sucs brother, I would love to get my hands on that thief for you. He would lose a hand or at least a finger if I caught him:mad: Hopefully he trys to pawn it in the area or go's to fleabay

Also keep an eye on craigs list.

A friend found a couple of his stolen bows up for sale there. Wish I had been there when the police met with the seller.

Thanks guys, as far as I can tell the door wasn't fully latched when we went out...so it could have been anyone. Filed a police report and contacted the hotel but I'm pretty sure they're long gone. Really suck cause they were both gifts from my wife and my two favorite knives :(.

Sorry that happened. Can you guys carry as Disneyland? I just got back from Disney World and while they search bags, they didn't search people. I could have concealed a rifle and they'd have never known. Hope you get them back. I'd check local pawn shops also. Perhaps the local police may?

While carrying in Disney parks is against their rules, and while they won't allow you in with a knife if they know you have one, they don't do pat-downs or use metal detectors (they do look inside purses, bags, backpacks, etc). Bottom line is, it's not a CRIME to carry in Disneyland, all they can do is order you to leave. Of course if a person is carrying an illegal item and they get caught with it by security, security can perform a citizens arrest and hold the person for the cops. Disney parks have their own jails, truly.
