I've had these stones kicking around for a while but don't really know what they are. The large one is 6" x 2" x1" and I was told it's some kind of Arkansas stone. If it's possible to tell from a picture, I'm wondering the type and value. Feels pretty fine when sharpening with it.

The other stone is rather course and thin, ~¼". I assume its not worth much if anything but don't know.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Ha I suppose that would be helpful...

Your 2X6 stone looks very near my Washita stone. I'm not sure on your other one. One cannot really go by a photo and the stones color to identify a Arkansas stone. It could be a hard. As the Washita's are 5-600 grit. Still, they are hard to find. DM

Thanks for the info David.
If anyone can give me a ballpark value it would be appreciated. Prices on the bay are all over the place and I have no use for them.

One particular retailer that always has them in stock, Washita stones that is, is showing $23.99 for a 6"x2"x13/16" and it comes in a wooden box.
