I'm sure Mr Reeve was ask these questions:
"Titanium framelock? Are you serious?"
"Scratches on your blade(stonewash)? Why aren't you polishing your blades?"

Yeah, except those are all great ideas. I don't really care how you think it's going to look, my point is that it will be damaging to the carbon fiber, though that will obviously be determined by how you execute your stonewashing.
Like sldk said, try it if you think it will look good. I think it will make it very matte, and scratch the surface up too much for my tastes. I love the peel-ply CF, but I think stonewashing your carbon fiber won't be good for it.
Equating your idea to stonewash CF with the idea for a titanium frame lock or stonewashing steel is pretty ridiculous. I'm sure you'll be credited with discovering the next great knife innovation.![]()
Thanks, unit!
Acquired a piece of carbon fiber, stonewashed it. It doesn't look as good as steel blades do. The ceramic media cuts steel and makes a nice finish, but the super hard CF composite doesn't "take" a nice looking pattern.
I think it would depend on what kind of ceramic media would be used. I'll throw a scrap of cf in my tumbler tonite after work and post a before and after pic.
