Stopping in to say hi and show you my little collection of Slipjoints

I like them all, you never can have enough steel....:)

Hello Traditional folders and fixed blade forum.
I frequent here mostly on CRK and Bussekin subforums, but dabble in a few other knives. I just love steel.

My dad loves slipjoints so I bought a few mostly to show to him and offer him his pick of whichever one he'd like.
I was surprised he wanted the "Old Timer" I had....I thought he might want one of my customs...but he's tickled pink and therefore so am I.

Ditto! They're all uniquely different enough to have their own personalities.:). Thats what I love about the traditionals; there's just so much character and distinction within the same style of knife. I think that's part of the reason why I like the CRK's so much, cause you never know what the next Sebbie is going to look like.

Hi Lisa and welcome to the friendliest and most civil forum on BF.:)

Like you I love steel but there is something so refreshing about the simplicity and honesty of the traditional slipjoint. You have some beauties there, I particularly like the blue Alsdorf.

Although I carry several large folders around with me it is usually a small serpentine Schrade Walden stockman that does all the utility chores. No matter were I am or who I am with no-one ever raises an eyebrow when I take out the stockman to cut something. Even people who are generally wary of knives just comment something like "My Dad always carried a pocket knife like that"

All I can say Lisa is that if you think that CRK's are addictive, you will find that Slippie's are the crack of the knifeworld! Totally addictive once you start and each one, each pattern, each handle material, seems to have it's own unique appeal and joy.

The Traditional Forum has a formality and civility about it which I really enjoy and there is a level of knowledge here which is very impressive.

Have fun;)

Good morning!
I woke up with several new posts to read, thank you all!
I'm looking forward to the Plaza Cutlery knife show this weekend as I'd like to see a few of the other styles of handles in person.
I never have held a dogleg or a canoe or congress, elephant's toe, etc., so I'm eager to see those in person.
Thanks for the replies.
