Storing folders

I was wondering out of the blue....what is the best way to store a folder with a frame lock for long periods of time? Opened or closed? What puts less stress on the lock?

Locks, like springs only experience wear from their engagement / disengagement and the amount of movement required at each stage.

Therefore, you would be fine storing them in either position, without the concern that you are wearing a lock out on a knife during storage.

I keep all my folders in a Bill's Custom Case; and therefore they are all closed.

I keep my folders in the high quality nylon Spyderco SpyderPac Knife Case, Large, SP-SP1

and my Afgahan made folders in the Spyderco SpyderPac Knife Case, Small
