It is very humid where i live and i was wondering what kind of box should i store my knifes in to keep the moisture out, and where would be the best place to get the box.

A humidor? Lol. I think you should be fine storing them in their original boxes as long as you put oil on them. But I haven't had experience in really humid areas.

i store mine in the boxes, but i know people who live in humid areas whos knives rust very easy

I use a Gertsner machinist tool chest that is made from quarter drawn red oak and has felt lined drawers... I also put a silica gel packet in each of the drawers, I have had no storage issues at all with this setup.

Hope this helps,

Google the product that Dusty mentioned to begin with. You could also buy a steel tool chest as a less expensive alternative.

If you live in a very humid area you really need to install a dehumidifier in the room where you store your knives or guns. I had to install one in my storage/work area and right now I have to empty it about every 30 hours and the container holds over 2 gallons of water. They are not that expensive, i think I paid less than $100 for it and it was money well spent. Before I bought it I was having to clean and oil constantly.

Your air conditioner should keep the room suitable for storage. I live in an extremely humid area and just use original boxes and a spyderpac. Never had a problem.

Rust inhibiting paper. Look it up. You can buy it by the roll or by the pack of sheets. Wrap it around the steel blade (or gun, or tool, etc.) and it will help prevent rust for years & years. Can be reused.

Gertsner is a maker of higher end machinist tool chests. The reason they use wood is to draw moisture away from
the tools stored in them. Any wood chest or box should help as long as it isn't varnished on the inside. MY 2 cents
