Storing your knives...how do you folks do it?

This is my man box. Paid $25 out the door at a pawn shop.

Open top for my work station and accumulating junk.

My meager knife collection along with a few assorted pen, watch, and other bits and pieces.

Stones and specialized tools.

Catch all drawer. Radios, multi meter, an old medical kit that holds the money I embezzle out of the marriage. Lol.

The bottom cabinet has knife patterns, materials, parts, stuff like that in it.

I only have about a dozen total (8 of them are GEC's), so they easily go in the gunsafe. If not in my pocket then in the safe.

I keep most of them in my safe but keep about a dozen in a night stand drawer and I pick from there what I want to carry. I rotate them from there to the safe. I have a good dehumidifier in my safe and it's dry in my bed room so no rust worries.

I was at the gun and knife show yesterday, and picked up three of these new for $30.00 total. They each hold 12 knives, and MSRP is $31.95, so it more than made up for the price of entry and the gas. BTW, these gun & knife shows are a sham, when you see Rough Rider, made in China Boker traditionals, and sketchy Hen & Rooster knives made who knows where for almost twice the price of a good old fashioned Case.

Keep it in my desk, and a few that I never carry in a fire resistant safe it's definitely not burglar resistant as they can pick it up and walk away with it.

On open shelves for the most part as those who have looked at my pics can tell...other than that I have a few compartment boxes and just ordered a larger 24 compartment box that is made by Rough Rider.

I make sure celluloid is stored in open air and away from light...fixed blades are on another set of shelves. I love having my slippies in front of me in the morning when I pick the day's knife...keeps me switching more often.

I've been searching for this Rough Rider one & can't seem to find it anywhere. Maybe they quit making it?

The guy you're asking about the RR storage box has been banned and this thread is 4-years old. I doubt that you'll get an answer.

That box from R&R is still readily available from a variety of internet dealers....just do a Google Images search of the box, and you will find who sells it. price is averaging $35.00. Personally, I wouldn't buy it because of the way it opens up; a drawer system would be nicer.

Personally, I like the small Spyderpac, which holds 18 knives (sometimes you can fit more than one in a pocket if you wish). High quality, best overall folding case I have seen. Small size is easier to store than the large size which holds 30 knives and easily transportable if you wish. I have some overflow in SackUps (various sizes), but I think the Spyderpac is a better deal.

I have a dedicated bookshelf and present my knifes on it using plastic stands. There are other more attractive options previously posted, but for the money and appeal, I really like how my collection is displayed.

for all my cv slippies, on top of a bamboo mat with all blades open, right in the middle of my work table so i can see which is starting to rust. i don't oil cv blades; just wipe them regularly.

I have some zip up knife cases with felt lining, plus Sack-Ups knife rolls. Just got a Case zippered case for Christmas and haven't started putting knives in it yet, the latest ones are all over the top of my chest in the bedroom. My wife is beginning to wonder if they are multiplying :D

I use this Gerstner's knock off from The Freight. It's poorly constructed and smells vaguely of cat urine. I'm convinced one day I'll walk in and it will be a pile of splinters with knives sticking out at various angles but my wife finds it and acceptable storage unit that doesn't need hiding.

LOL! Your description really did make me laugh & then I got a weird look from my better half. :) I would like to try & build something like that. I have plenty of scrap wood I just don't have much free time.

I use knife boxes. For some reason, people keep filling them up with cigars, though, so I have to empty 'em out before I can put them to proper use. ;)

That had me laughing too. JK, you know Gerstner has a do it yourself kit right? Still pricey, but a half stop up from building from scratch.
