My production kephart has been one of my all time favorite knives. It has travelled with me on many adventures. I have used it for fire prep, bushcraft skills, dinner prep, and cleaning fish. It has gone to Alaska and Costa Rica. It has been in rain, sun and snow. The s35vn steel has survived the wet environments well. With the Rick Lowe sheath it clips easily onto my backpacks. This particular sheath is by far my all time favorite. I don't like to wear a sheath on my belt. This one clips on whatever backpack I am wearing, is easily accessible and has great retention. I really like the way it looks too! The knife and sheath together make a great pair.

I purchased a Wicked Edge Go sharpening system awhile back and just recently tried it out. I sharpened a couple cheap kitchen knives first and then moved onto my production kephart. It was pretty beat up with some sizable chips in the edge. With the wicked edge I was able to work them out. I got most of the knife pretty sharp, but was having some snagging in the base of the edge by the handle. I took some photos with a moment macro lens attached to my iPhone and I was able to see that I had not done a good job in that section. With a little more work I was able to get the entire edge hair shaving sharp again. This knife still has a lot of life left in it!
