Stout hunting knife

A Spartan Harsey Hunter is very stout / able to be used for bushcraft and, as the name indicates, can be used as a good hunting knife. I would (and do) just carry a Phrike, though. Outstanding hunting knife, good enough bushcraft knife...and it's light and has an awesome low profile for carrying and not getting in the way.

I too am looking for this type of knife. I hunt elk in utah and don't want to carry in a bunch of blades.
In my search for a knife to fit this task I have purchase a falkniven f1, bravo 1lt, Mora companion, BRKT loveless, survive Gso 4.1 and 5.1, aurora, fiddleback Bushcrafter, LT GNS, LT Camp Muk, BRKT Canadian Special, and a few others.

I sold all but the aurora, loveless, gso 5.1 and the camp muk. The bravo 1lt was close but I found it thick behind the edge and the handle didn't fit me well.

Have you thought about a scandi? I have used them on game with success.

I have an order for and adventure sworn custom guide in 3v in convex which I hope will be "the knife".

I had the same need as well. Wanted something that could be used both in the field during the hunt as well as after the hunt for dressing the game. I designed the Oak Bottom Hunter and it has filled both of these needs. It is made of CPM 154 and holds an amazing edge. Flat grind. Will really bust through that brisket.

I use a Survive GSO 4.1 and love it. A less expensive alternative would be the Cold Steel Master Hunter 3V. A CPM 3V blade at $90 (via AMZ) is a heck of a deal for some great steel.
