Straight edge secondaries

I've been into the traditional knives for about a year now, and I have finally found out what makes the perfect pocket knife(for me). This all started after I picked up a northwoods presidential. I just took a chance on the pattern and slip joints in general. Well, long story short, I have settled on 2 bladed knives with a secondary straight edge blade(the primary doesn't matter that much).

Unfortunately(or fortunate for my wallet) there are not a ton of patterns that fall within my guidelines, or at least that I'm aware of. I plan on picking up a eureka jack when I get the chance, and hopefully I'll get in on the 85s. I believe Schrade produced a half stockman(?) with a clip and sheepsfoot, and that's on my radar. However, I know there has got to be quite a few that I have missed.
That's where y'all come in. I was hoping y'all could show off some of your 2 blade knives with secondary straight edge blades. I know they are out there, and I figured maybe you guys could help me stay broke.

GEC made their Furtaker Trapper with muskrat clip main and full length "sheepcliffe" secondary.

Quite a few Wharncliffe Trappers out there, these two different sized versions from Case really have more of a lambsfoot secondary.

My apologies, I should have been more clear. I was mainly looking for smaller secondary blades like on the eureka which seem to be much more elusive. The full size are nice, but in my usage I've found them to be most useful around the 2" or less size.

The one thing that would make my 72 Cody Jack better would be a sheepsfoot or coping secondary.

This is my favourite straight edge secondary, I use it for incised lines for inlay work.

Best regards

Robin

I have really been enjoying my RR Improved Muskrat, with a slim clip and a long sheepsfoot, long enough that it might be considered the primary blade. (The "improvement" is the substitution of the sheepsfoot for, I think, another clip.) That is how I use it, anyway. I didn't expect much from the smooth tobacco bone, but it has very much exceeded my expectations.

SSS, I think I have preferences almost identical to yours: at least 2 blades, one big and one small, one with belly and one straight. Do you care whether your 2 blades are on the same end of the knife (as in your Northfield Barlow) or are on opposite ends (as in your Presidential)?

Is the Schrade to which you referred the 93OT (also called the Wrangler, I think)? I won this one in a Fausto GAW about a year ago, and it's a very satisfying knife for me. (The secondary may be a little bigger than you'd like though.)

Here's a GEC 85 with buffalo horn covers on which Paul H. added an EO notch and modded the secondary blade.

This Vic Electrician has a spear main and a little sheepsfoot (plus an awl and a cap lifter). Whatever else I carry, I ALWAYS carry this guy!

GT, while I prefer two springs, single spring knives are not a deal breaker.
That is indeed the Schrade I was referencing.
BTMccutheon, I love the bone on that 77.

I just got this one a couple days ago, and already just HAD to modify the secondary. I really don't have any need for a dedicated skinner on a 3½" pocket knife, and the little sheepfoot will come in SOOOO handy. :)

Thanks, 3S, the position of the nail nick was just rearward enough to make it work. So many secondaries have the nail nick so far toward the tip that it's impossible to make a straight edged blade mod. I love the way a saddlehorn fits my hand, so I tried it with another one a couple years back, but the nick was so far forward on the skinner blade that I modded the clip main instead, giving me a BIG sheepfoot.

I believe Rough Rider makes a modified Muskrat with the standard California/Turkish clip main and a full length sheepsfoot secondary. I don't remember the exact closed lenght, but it is around 4 inches.

Jeff Top mod on that Saddlehorn! Done it proud:thumbup:

Here's the Northfield version of the Workhorse.

The Eureka has a nice coping secondary, as do Whittlers but I don't have available pix of them.

One unusual knife I have, but no shots, is the Schatt & Morgan Horticultural knife: Clip master and short Sheepfoot secondary, a fine combination actually.

Thanks, bt and Will. Trand has one of those horticulturist knives on the exchange right now if you want to see a pic of one.
