The original has just a hint of belly near the tip. My mod is as straight as I could get it, anyway:

This is a real working man’s knife. It belonged to my uncle, who was a merchant sailor. Entirely unmarked, dull as a butter knife, and soaked in what appears to be motor oil:

This Camillus Rigger served a career in the US Navy; I bought this one, and an older Schrade, from a sailor's estate a number of years ago. Both were hand engraved with an electric pen, this one with Deck #2 on blade and bolster. OH

The Schrade-Walden riggers knife. This is the second knife I bought from the estate. The Sailor served on the USS Portland LSD37, USS Iwo Jima LP42, and the USS Vogelgesang DD862 - glad I wrote these ships down on a scrap of paper when I bought the knives in 2013.
