i ment riding on the neighbor hood roads like family and appreciate your sport - i ride trails.

haha I gotcha man. I'm not mad, I just had to point it out.

I think as a knife knut you go through 3 stages on serrations.

First: Serrated knives are way cool, look cool, and you don't have to sharpen them.
Second: Now that I can sharpen I see that all serrated knives are for schmuks and no proper knife afficianado would have such a thing.
Third: You find that despite that fact that there are very few high end knives and probably almost no custom knives serrated (there is a serracted Sebenza!!! Who knew?), serration have place for cutting some tough things and they can be kept sharp and do have a place for some applications.

I have recently purchases several serrated knives and like the niche they fill.

like most things knife related, us knife nuts have very strong opinions one way or the other about serrations, when they really don't make a ton of difference.

I prefer plain edge, and say things like "99% of my EDC chores can be done better with a plain edge", but then I'll pick up a serrated edge and realize it actually performs nearly identically to the plain edge in all but a few things. And vice versa.

really, the two biggest things for me are sharpening, and the need to sharpen. They are a pain for me to sharpen, but when they "dull" they keep cutting better than a dull plain edge, so....

I have lots and lots of various knives , I sharpen knives for a living ( among other things), most of my Edc's are serrated . This is due to the fact that a serrated edge will go though
almost anything and stay serviceable, also you get more of a cutting
edge for blade length. If I would want a dedicated capping skinner than I would go plain. I think that there is a lot of snobbery involved when it comes to serrated knives, give me a Spydy serrated any day for edc.

I have the SOG Aegis Mini myself and I really love it!!
But anyway, the only serrations i've ever seen that looked useful are on the CRKT Ultima fixed blade. I've had a need for serrations but that's just me.
