Anyone here use em? Any good suggestions? IM thinking of getting one for Christmas.:confused:
 
I use it. It's difficult, but the more you do it, the easier it gets. I am still in 'training' session, so I didn't want to spend too much money on the razor. The one I've been using for the past 2 years is Dovo Solingen, made in German. I paid around $30. It has a carbon steel blade, not stainless steel.
 
I'm supposed to just strop it each time I shave. But my ceramic has done a good job, so I stick with it.

I own and have used a straight edge. The first few shaves take you about 30 mins, the reflection being reversed really screws with your mind in the beginning. After 10 or so shaves you pretty much overcome your fear of slashing yourself and you can get the job done in about 3 times the time that a safety razor takes. As for sharpening it I just used a strop.

They have their uses but are not that great except to make your skin feel really clean after.
