Straightening Out A Clip Point

I would like to take the clip point off of a Ka-Bar combat knife.

Has anyone done this?

If so, would you care to impart any advice? I would also like to place a cutting edge on the top inch or so.

I should also ask. What would be the best way to make a kraton handle more "sticky"

Rough it with sandpaper?

Well, I just sharpened the clip's false edge on my Ka-Bar (its the old school though with leather handles and 1095 steel). Came to a decent edge after not too long on the course stone...

Sandpaper sounds like it should do the trick. While your at it you might like to remove the top guard like on the 21st Century kabar.
