Straightening stag

I have quite a few stag rolls from which I cut scales. Many times the best piece is on the very curved side of the roll. I have boiled pieces after cutting parallel for up to three hours and clamped straight. Boing...out of the clamps and right back to its' original curved state. Does anyone know of a relaxant......lanolin, glycerin, etc. that may relax this stag? I know Sheffield makers had a way of straightening.......but not me! Thanks for any ideas.

Wish I could help you but remember that stag is essentially bone, not horn.
