Strange damascus like texture on the blade after quenching

Hi!

I've just heat treated my first ever blade (o1 steel) - After the process I've ended up with strange damascus like texture on the blade. It looks like 3d network of shallow groves and bumps. Looks like it can be polished away, but I am not sure if it's normal? I am finding it hard to find a definite answer on The Internets.

Looks like scale/decarb on the blade.

Yup, just some decarb. Sand down to clean steel and it'll be right as rain!
