i am purchasing a drill press that is to me a little unusual. wondering if and of you machinists have seen one. it is a drill press with a tapered spindle, and a Jacobs chuck in it. it has a k.o. lee base (cast iron) and its set up with a milling table. (up,down left right travel.) not sure what the manufacture of the main part is, but its not just a factory mill, drill machine. it looks like maybe it was made for a specific use. it has a t-slot table. i would like to find a cheap magnetic chuck for it, if anyone has one let me know.

Any time you use a Jacobs chuck in a tapered spindle for milling, be prepared to pull the chuck right out of the taper when milling a slot. It makes for a dangerous situation with a cutter and chuck spinning around like a top.

I have a good magnetic chuck for you.
It seems that I collect tools like some ladies collect shoes, but being in school, I find myself selling off my treasures.
