This may or may not be the correct place to post. If you feel so inclined Mods please move to the appropriate location.

I have a slipjoint in 1095, and a small fixed blade in 01. Well, they are magnetic towards one another. No other knives or combination of my knives do this, but for some reason the back spring of the slipjoint is attracted to the steel of the fixed blade. :confused:I was wondering if anyone could explain this to me? There's no magnets or any way one could have been magnetized so I really don't know what's going on! If it helps I could post a picture?

Can't explain it, but have had many knives with some level of magnetic properties. Some I just figured I may have at some point hung them on one of my magnetic bar knife holders.

On some of the smaller blades I have used a magnetizer/demagnetizer that I picked up at the local home improvement big box. The small ones are only a couple bucks.

Makes sense to me. If one is slightly magnetic, but the other is very "magnetically receptive" for lack of a better term, then they might show it far more than your other blades do. Have you checked them out with a compass, or sewing needle on a thread?
